I returned from a 3 week photo safari to namibia, botswana, and vic falls earlier this year. on the advice of Wink and Saeed, I took along the above two cameras (with a Sony 24-105 F4 G lens). Both cameras worked exceptionally well-the only problems were with the operator! i was particularly impressed with the quality of the pics with the rx10 and its one inch sensor. with the pixel shifting "clearview zoom" feature, you can zoom out to 1200 mm, but only for static objects and only in JPEG.
