Just finished reading about the .284. But the one I just bought is a .308. It,s a pre64 , 1960 a year younger than its new owner.
Its probably in 75% comdition, no pad added origional clip.
It feeds great ! I loaded 3 diffrent loads for it including round nose and all go throught it real well.
It even fed MT cases that were 1st fired in my pre 64 featherweight and resized.
But looking at how thw round is lined up with the chamber when on the magazine follower its a prety flat travel to the chamber, a good design,
My plan is to site the 180 rain RNs in for the factory fold down rear , and work uo some loads with a 165 an a 150 grain for the scope.
It came with a 2.5X8 scope chief, that will do till I get somthing better, mabye a 2X7 FF2 with the 3P4 reticle.
Or as I have said lots of times, can.t go rong with a leupold.

Darn thing shoots prety darn well.
