I picked up one of my revolvers from WWG today and the guys in there were telling me that they are building the 500S&W on the marlin rifle. Cost is about the same as 50AK conversion.

I dont work there or anything I'm just passing it on.

Maybe they can explain how a 50,000 PSI round can be chambered in an action that is rated for 43,500 PSI with a cartridge with a .532" bolt/cartridge interface. Rim diameter of the 500 S&W is .556" yielding a potential 5% more bolt thrust at equal pressures as the 450 Marlin. Just curious.

Jackfish,
I didnt ask to many questions so I dont know how they did it or what. Something like this doesnt interest me. I just posted it incase somebody is interested then they can call and find out the process. Personnally, I think the 45/70 is pretty hard to beat in a levergun but different strokes for different folks I guess.
