I wonder if Ruger will carry on the current models and hopefully add a few new ones - I hope so. Smiler

Nice rifle Way to fancy for me.

The first thing I would do is carry through the deer woods and get it marked up up.

I would much rather see a stainless Syt stocked one.

So I could use it without worry.

Jens,
The .444 Marlin specs fall into the general area of the .405 WCF, which is a favorite of mine.

Have you hunted with either the .405 or the .444?
I know my .405 comes standard with 300 grain bullets, but have done well in Afrika with 400 grain hand loads. Reckon the .444 Marlin should be able to handle 400 grain bullets?

Cr,
I dont think so,the 444 takes less powder.

I also wonder if the rifling twist in the .444 is too slow for bullets much over 300 grains.

A well built 300gr 44 bullet is plenty for anything in North America.

Very nice looking rifle but for me I don't like the whoop-de-do at the bottom of the pistol grip, kinda weird looking.

I wish they would make all their rifles with a slimmer forend like that.

Agree. I always felt the Marlin forends were to bulky.
