I went out to shoot my Ruger MkIII Competition pistol that has an Ultradot Matchdot optic on it. At the range I discovered the brightness still set to "4" and the battery quite dead. Dummy me. So I figured to simply remove the sight and shoot with iron sights that day, but for the life of me I could not find an Allen key to fit the Talley(?) rings on it. Not in my Chapman driver kit or in my truck toolbox. So I put it away and went to the other pistols.

When I got home I wondered what I could keep on hand so this didn't happen again. Not wanting to rip off my regular Allen sets I rummaged around in the loose tool bins and came up with no less than two spare 3mm Allen keys. Now I keep one of them in the shooting bag, one more thing for "just maybe". Either I didn't know or had forgotten that I needed metric tools to put these rings on. Confused
