Moderators and Saeed,
Today marks the completion of my 15th year as a member on AR. I found you just after my first trip to South Africa and that ignited a passion I am still pursuing! Thanks for the forum and hosting a website without advertising.

I have found a lot of good advice and actually booked a few hunts off recs from here.

Thanks!

Ross

Close to 19 years, and three trips to Africa much thanks to the inspiration I got here Smiler
I remember when I joined in, the layout was a long green thread, no sections if I remember correctly.

We have come a long way since then Smiler
(I must have a pretty low "member number" ?)
Thank you Saeed for keeping this great site up and running!

I remember he original forum format where the threads kept stacking on top of one another. It was that way for many years. Then they made the change to the current style and we all had to reset the log in and create new ID's.
I cant remember when I first joined but guess is was in 97 or 98?

Lots have changed here over the years but I still find this a valuable place keep updated on current events in the industry as well as enjoy the humor from all the BS.

What I appreciate the most from this place is that you can navigate without having all the ad activity to slow you down.

I seldom visit the other forums due to the time it takes for the pages to load and having to deal with all the pop ups.

They are not worth my time.

Cheers!

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! I seldom visit any other forum as some of them have some moderators that are real jerks. On one forum I made a post about a taxation that I think it was Seattle had put on each bullet. I posed the question were cast bullets that folks made themselves taxed? That thread was shut down by the site owner as it was viewed as political. One of the moderators said, "I agree" (that it should be shut down for being political). That same moderator had a thread he started that was several pages long asking for peoples comments on the JFK assassination. That's not political??? I've not been back. I viewed it as a cliche. Another forum same same. Saeed and crew do a good job here in my opinion. Saeed has taken guff off of some that I wouldn't have tolerated if I were paying the tab here.

I started out on this forum as Carpetman and forgot my password. I was sent a password that I couldn't tell if it was a 1 (one) or an el l and other confusions, so I started over as carpetman1 with new password. So Ive been here several years and many more posts than what shows.
