Without being biased; it's a great hunt, not too expensive, and 2 species you can only hunt in the UK, apart from the odd Texas ranch where you can Muntjac.

I've shot a few Indian common Muntjack in the early 1980s in the Tea Plantations of south India.

They are a bit bigger, say 5kgs more and 3 to 5 inches taller. Their antlers a bit bigger too - world record is 7 inches with a small fork making it 3 points per side. My best was 4.5 inches and considered a good trophy.

BTW the Indian muntjack bucks also has have canines that are about 2 inches long. Nothing like the CWD which look like Saber Tooth cats! Big Grin

How difficult is it bringing a rifle into the UK? Is there a lot of paperwork? Are there license fees or taxes involved?

Hi, it’s easy - we just need to get a permit so need a make, serial number and calibre. Cost is circa £50.

Interesting, I'd have to buy a new rifle for that, I don't think that I have one small enough.

Also available which is unique is a one day hunt for one or both species which so far our success is exceedingly high!

Ideal for those using London as a transit route.

For what it’s worth, my trophies that I hunted with Sam and Alex during December 2018 arrived in South Africa last week.

The process was easy albeit very long.
