larryshoresFree short notice goat hunt in AK
I apologize in advance if this is not allowed.
I have a goat hunt totally paid for that I cannot go on due to my mother’s health issues. The outfitter will allow me to give it to someone else.
The hunt starts Sunday . It is for 6 days . Dates are firm. They cannot be changed . Get yourself there. Buy the license. The rest is paid in full.
If interested, PM me.

Big Wonderful WyomingI also hope things work out for your mother.
I remember when you did this a few years ago for another Alaska hunt.

larryshoresThanks everyone.
My mother has had what I call structural problems for many years. Feet, spine etc. She somehow got a fracture in her neck.
It appears the hunt is taken.

Use Enough GunSo sorry about your mom, Larry. Mine is 87.
We're not getting younger ourselves. Certainly there has to be some of our AR members in Alaska that could jump on this: Frostbit-where are you?

Adventure907Larry, I hope your mother gets well soon, you are in my prayers.
Who is the outfitter? I am not sure I could swing it, but I would love to go on a guided hunt and see what its like to be on the other end of the hunt.

justanotherhunterLarry, you are truly one of a kind in today's world. And that's a damn shame.
Good luck with your mom. If I hadn't just closed on my house and have movers coming Monday I'd be all over this.
27 November 2020, 02:08
larryshoresThanks all.
She is feeling somewhat better. We will know more after the visit with the neurosurgeon next week.
A gentleman from Utah is taking the hunt . Seems quite excited .

DLSI’m glad to read that your mother is doing better. Taking care of our aging parents is a privilege that not everyone gets the chance to experience. As tough as it is, you’re fortunate your mom is around to care for.
You’re a good man, both with family and fellow hunters.

Thanks for thinking of me. Larry texted me and offered this hunt. Unfortunately I had my knee scoped two weeks ago to clean up the meniscus and some loose bodies. You know. I did it going into the winter so I would be ready for mountain hunting next fall.
Unfortunate timing for me. I would have jumped on Larry's offer. I'm kind of glad it went to someone from the lower 48 though since it's a guided hunt and that's required for non-Alaskans.
Thoughts and prayers for your Mom Larry!!
Cheers
Jim

So true. My parents are gone and so is Joyce's Mother. Her Father on the other hand is a 98 year old energizer bunny (likely where Joyce got her badassery genes). We are fortunate enough to be positioned so Joyce is now back in PA spending every precious day she can with her Father.
Larry, you made the right choice my friend.
Cheers

bghunter3If I didn't have to leave for a work trip tomorrow I would have been all over this, as more than likely only way i would have ever been able to do a hunt like this.
I wish the best for your family first and and you are one heck of a guy to even offer this.

larryshoresThanks everyone.
I have heard from the gentleman who took the hunt . The weather is abysmal. They had 6 inches of snow yesterday. More on the way followed by over 10 inches of rain projected through the end of the hunt .

AnotherAZWriterLarry,
Just saw this; glad your mom is doing better. Not sure I could have gone on this as I my left shoulder is still not healed from my bike accident. Ironically, since I cannot run yet, I am hiking the steep hills behind my house; MsAZW went up Bear Mountain in Sedona on Saturday in 70 minutes.

Take care of that shoulder.
Given the weather, it may be a curse to have taken it.

DCS MemberLarry,
I do hope and pray your mother gets better. It is never fun these days. My father, my best hunting buddy, has not been able to walk on his own in 10 months.
You are a gentleman and a scholar, not just for this offer, but one almost exactly the same, and many other kind gestures made here and I’m sure in other circles. I know you’re not the type to ask for recognition, but you deserve it. This hunt could’ve gone to waste and the gentleman from Utah wouldn’t have been able to have the experience.
As the saying goes, what comes around, goes around.
Cheer to you and best wishes to your mother.

bwanamrmThoughts and prayers to your mother, buddy! A generous and kind offer...
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling
