The concession is about 150 KM from the border of Benin and Niger.

Yes a client was booked but decided last minute that he doesn't want to try for lion. He is now im Camp hunting buffalo.

@ Jan
This is a tracking hunt only. No calling, no baiting.
You will mainly check river beds and search for natural kills to start tracking.

Success rate on these hunts is good and the area is known for the good population of lions.

Hunters can also take Buffalo, Roan limited plains game. Buffalo and Roan numbers are very good!

According to Toufic you can call for lions, if you know how to do it. It's not a technique they use, but you are free to do so. You cannot use recorded calls however, such as you see for varmint calling using loudspeakers. Natural calling only.

Manual calling with a large funnel is an art but very effective.

@Wink
That's correct as far as I know you can call. But I assume most international hunters are not too familiar with calling lions the traditional way.
As you know hunting is only allowed during the day, which would make it even more difficult.

Push for one of the last opportunities to hunt wild lions in Burkina in a top area. Next years will be different...

Richard Bell Cross and I made a funnel/pipe etc and got the design from a PH in CAR. It works really well and when pissing around we called Lion within a few meters. It sounds like a trombone.

We have a tracker who calls in Lion and the sound is basically a distress call. Same used for Duiker etc.

However we cannot call in Zambia when hunting.

Surprised you have not sold that Lion.

Unbelievable that this is still available. If I wasn't looking at my son today on an ultrasound, I would be traveling in April!
