These hunts are to be conducted in the very RURAL NW Eastern Cape Karoo area.We will hunt my low fenced property and very large Private Game reserves surrounding me.Elephant Buffalo Rhino leopard Sable Giraffe all free roaming the hunting area of 190 000acres of contiginous hunting area.

This is something I've often wondered.....

On a property where both Kalahari Springbok and Cape Springbok exist, and with very different prices for each....how do you tell in the field which is which?

The Kalahari springbok is larger and has larger horns than other springboks, but is otherwise similar.

And surely they interbreed....correct?

Just booked a hunt with Dave for 2013!!!!!! I am hunting the Limpopo this July for the second time, BUT I am very excited to get down and hunt the Cape with Dave. I booked it through some previous clients at the MN SCI show and they had nothing but great things to say about Dave and his hunting operation.....

This is a can of worms as some inter breeding has occured, but it seems that thevegetation an minerals etc dont support the big Springbuck in other areas. If you bring in a big one then you have 1 generation of Hybrid vigour and then they all go back to the normal sizes again, same with the Cape Kudu and Southern Greater.

The easiest is area, The Kalahari`s natural range extends from the NW South Africa up into SW Botswana and Namibia.
SA Springbuck typically measure 10-12" and Kalaharis 14-16" Kalahari buck shot in SA all get scored under the SA Springbuck in SCI.

Its Kinda like a Montanna Moose and an Alaskan Moose where they mingle in the middle ??

They are not on the same property we normally travel 3-4hrs North and stay at another Lodge to take these.

Saw the guinea, so I had to ask. Do you offer any purely bird shooting?

What I might be looking for at some point would be a purely bird shoot -- perhaps doves and sandgrouse over water and/or francolin and guineas, either a walk up or driven -- a couple or three days only, after another hunt. Would need hired shotgun, preferably a SxS double, and ammunition, as there is not way that would meet the weight limitation. Any ideas?

Most of our game birds have a season from june - Aug will need to check.Hunting would be walk on birding.ie see somthing jump out and have 2 guns either side etc or check water for waterbirds.shotguns can be hired with shells.

we have some good pigeon shoots in the free state on the maize fields.
Francolins up in the mountains will need dogs that i dont have but we can arrange some. We dont have the sand grouse so far south though.
If you came at a standard day rate and hired the shotgun that will be fine for my areas if we need to get in dogs if you covered that Id be happy.Should be fun.
