My longtime friend has decided to concentrate mainly on the geese this season with light geese and specks being the focus. He generally does really well on both and now the speckle belly limit is 3 in AR. Light geese (snow/blue/ross) is 20 per person per day with no possession limit. If the ducks are there in numbers, you may do some duck hunting as well but this is mainly for geese. There are some Canada's around but those would be incidental. There are countless light geese and lots of specks however. Cost is $300 per day with food and lodging included. You will stay in his camp in Reydel, AR (about 40 minutes from Stuttgart and Mack's Prairie Wings store). You can buy your State and Federal stamp plus 3 day or longer license at Mack's on your way to camp. All but your Federal Stamp can be purchased online if you prefer. Camp is comfortable and food is home cooked. I have hunted there numerous times and always enjoy the hunting and fellowship. Camp is right on the backwaters of the Arkansas river so you might want to bring a pole and try for some catfish, etc. Contact Tim Reaves at: treaves2@yahoo.com or give him a call at: 870-308-0496. He is primarily retired now so this is not a big, over-sized commercial operation, just a good one on a personal level. If I can answer any questions, just give me a call.

Hours: 30 Minutes Before Sunrise Until Sunset
Limits:
2016-17 White-fronted, Snow, Blue and Ross's Goose Season
Nov. 16-Dec. 2, 2016
Dec. 4, 2016-Jan. 29, 2017

White-fronted Goose Daily Bag Limit: 3
White-fronted Goose Possession Limit: 9
Snow, Blue and Ross's Goose Combined Daily Bag Limit: 20
Snow, Blue and Ross's Goose Combined Possession Limit: No possession limit

Hi David -

Can you do this hunt without food or lodging? We stay at a camp next to Bayou Meto and have hunted near Reydel before, I have my teenage boys with me over their Christmas break and a day long goose hunt might be a fun addition to ducks in the timber!

Thanks, Neil

Hi Neil,
He only offers morning goose hunts during the regular ducks season. Once it closes he hunts morning/afternoon or all day for light geese. Might not be a good option during regular duck season for just a morning hunt. If possible, you'd be better during the conservation season to get in a full day. Spring break? All my current "other" options are a long way from Stuttgart; NE or MA. Let me know if you have option and I'm always talking to other outfitters. Best regards, David

Just picked up another duck camp on the Arkansas river (lodge is literally on the river). This year they will have 3 rice fields and if rain floods one of their farms, there will be hunting in the timber as well. Morning hunts, food & lodging is included. Shady Elm Duck Club out of Rison, AR. Craig Ashcraft and crew can handle up to 5 hunters per day. Not a big commercial operation, so your not in a crowed lodge trying to draw where you get to hunt each day. You'll hunt where the best spots are. $300 per day and yes, you can bring your own retriever should you desire. Get your limit of ducks (sometimes they kill geese as well) in the morning and want something to do later in the day? Some fantastic Cat fishing can be had right out the lodge door or a mile down river at the lock. If you've never been in the Stuttgart area, you'll definitely want to visit Mack's. It's a hunters kind of store. They usually have big bores in the rack as well as quality guns and ammo. Contact Craig at 870-818-5472 or give me a call if you can't reach him.
