Strictly inflation wise a oz of gold back then 20.00 dollars.

At 1242.00 a oz today so 24480.00

So could you take two high quality revolvers of any make buy them and have that work done to them for 24480.00

A pair of S@W29s can be had for less then 2000.00 that would leave you 22480.00 for the rest.

The metal engraving could still be costed today and FWIW isn't of a style that would be outrageously expensive. They are nice guns. Thank you for posting the link so that others could enjoy them.
