Checking on business airfares from US to JNB. ATL to JNB on Qatar in September is $3500. Same dates on Emirates(from Orlando) is $10,000. Is this possible?

I have never been able to make sense out of ticket prices.

Airlines have different prices, for the same flight, on different dates.

I questioned this on Lufthansa years ago, and never got a convincing answer.

They said it all depends on demand.

Qatar is probably suffering from the GCC boycott, so I suggest you buy it before the price goes up.

They have reached an agreement to end the boycott.

A few years ago, before Emirates flew to Stockholm, we had to either fly through Europe, and transit, or through Doha, transit.

For us Doha was easier, so Qatar jacked up the price, because they had all the passengers they could handle.

We buy blocks of seats, and sometimes the price, in the same class, the same day, for different seats is different.

I can understand that for economy, but never in Business or First??
