We have finally received our trophy's from Namibia. Above is our Blue Wildebeest. The European Mount plate was created by a 99 year old glass artist named Frank Springer. What is very interesting about Frank is that he is an ex-vise squad leader way back in the "Sin City" days of Portland Oregon. What a great guy and some incredible stories. He loved the project and would love to more. We gave him a cardboard template and went and picked out the glass with him. The type and colors of glass are unlimited. We bonded T-nuts into the skull and fabricated a simple plate for the back. I think that Frank would love to do another if anyone is interested. This is a great contemporary art piece alternative for the wife that doesn't want all the full mount heads taking up all the wall space.

It was time for "Eland Scrotum Pouch's" reign of terror to end.

That's a very beautiful and unique euro mount - I love the art glass. The size and shape you chose is perfect. Interesting to think about Frank Springer living during the Art Deco period, which lasted from roughly 1910 to 1940. He really did a great job on this, and it's a great conversation piece, considering his history, and that the wildebeest came from your first safari. Very nice.
