di & me had lunch with robert last week & got to see these ears. they are even better than the pictures show when you see them. soon as we get back from NZ i have an ear on the way up to him. notice on the 2nd ear how the trunk shapes into the ear.
Thank you for all of the compliments! I sculpt the backing for each ear individually, unlike most artists that paint ears. Each ear is also a 3 dimensional artwork. I wish a photo could represent the entire piece. They will not warp or crack over time. I have a new ear I will be posting in a couple days.

That is a hard question to answer, with all the laws on sale of elephant products, it would be hard to sell, especially across state lines. Unpainted, it would be worth the value of the leather. Painted, it depends on the talent of the artist. I would guess between $1,000 and $5,000. Most if not all countries require a CITES to exit the country, and USF&W will not allow it into the country without the appropriate CITES paper. The only one I ever saw sold was years ago, and as I recall it sold for $1,000.

i wish you all could see some of roberts wrok. it is fantastic. once you actually see one of these ears, it becomes a priority to have one. and yes mine is due up soon
Robert, Do you ever take any of these to any shows; like the SCI convention etc. i would really like to see one, for real, rather than just a picture. Absolutly superb work! Shane
