"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

The duplication of photos in paint is done by computer nowadays. The great wildlife and landscape painters had passion and their work and composition reeks of it.

Kind of a nasty comment Andrew. If you were to read her bio:

Although Kathleen studied graphic design at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh she feels it is her extensive study of nature and collection of reference photos that aid her in creating realistic paintings. In a statement from the artist Kathleen said, "my photographs give me accuracy, but my sketches and field experience allow me to create the illusion of depth. My goal is not to reproduce a photograph, but to have my painting filled with light, depth, atmosphere and the varied textures found in nature. I want my paintings to tell a story and evoke emotions."

Not nasty but photographic art is a dime a dozen. All artists have their mottos and I have heard this one many times before.

But like they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and you like it and I do not.

Just my opinion.

I have to agree with fairgame.
Her work belies her "mission statement."
Too many blurry backgrounds and weak foregrounds with a cutesy subject in focus in the middle, like copied from a photograph with little imagination or effort, too soft and dull in texture and lighting with her detail and "atmospheric hysterics" also. Too warm and fuzzy.
