The vase is hand engraved and also some acid etch(to give the soft nightime background)on the back of the vase .The trees and other dark area's are drawn on with an acid resistant pen then a glass etching paste is brushed over this to etch the surface ,the fence ,tree's and background are then highlighted with the dentist drill and a diamond burr to give light on the edges. The moon, owl are deeply engraved with the dental drill and some polishing and detail added. The front of the vase is engraved with mouse and various plants including a small spider and web amongst the plants to give a 3D effect from front to back. Photography is quite difficult to get the light just right for the effect so I have pasted two photo's.
