Another project that's been on the shelf for many years. I bought this action through the classifieds here about 10 or 11 years ago with intent on building myself a rifle. Finally managed to put it together in .280 Ackley.

Very nice. Just a question, is there a reason you went with the high rings?

Looks well done! By the way, how do you like the new checkering machine?

Stock dimensions demanded high rings for me.

New checkering machine? I’ve had the power supply at lest 15 years and the checkering head for probably 5. The head is from Hosford and for me works a lot better than the Doiron I started with.

That is one sweet looking rifle. How long is the barrel? How heavy is it? That thing is begging to go shoot hill stags in Scotland...

Thought it may have been the Ullman marketed one

I was on a wait-list for the Ullman when I bought the Hosford and it so well I canceled the order for Ullman

Nice work on the Dakota!
Great piece of wood, the wood does not overpower the classic lines of the rifle.

What load(s) are you shooting in the .280 Ackley? The .280 Ackley seems about the perfect round up to elk with a minimum amount of recoil compared to the magnums.

I love the M10 and that is one nice rifle you did there. Needs an SDH lever :-)

The lever is a modified #10. The trigger guard and trigger are proprietary.
