Would a small ring Brno action be suitable for a .404 Jeffery?

Thanks. Kinda what I figured. I don’t think I have seen anything bigger on one than a 9.3x62 so far. What is the largest cartridge they have been chambered for......safely? I know the 9.3 I had and the one I am having made now is very light for the power you get from the 9.3 but for a rifle carried more than shot is not a bad thing

Stick to the 06 cases on the small rings.

Plenty of belted mags were made on the Husqvarna small ring...not staring a dog fight...just information to ponder

Someone correct me if I am wrong
But is it so that a 404 can be built on a
375? Length action. As in re barreling
A 375 or 458 to 404

You're right...and lots of small ring 98s are same length as most large ring. And it's wise to remember the bulk of an action doesn't necessarily determine it's yield point.

PO Ackley showed how the Arisaka made a bum out of most everything else.

Yes you're right Duane. I've also seen some big girls in really small bikinis. I'm not knocking the big girls or the small bikinis. Check out the newest issue of Sports Illustrated. Watch out for the .......

There's also a bunch of V8 motorcycles cruising around Sturgis right now. Plenty of room on the back for the girl in the bikini.

As Burgess pointed out there's not as much hoop strength on a small ring barrel thread as there is on a large ring.

He also made a display board at Trinidad filled with intentional blown up G33/40 actions. I guess they were easy to find back in the day.

However, IMO the Husky and the Brno22 action are better steel than the 33/40.

Any action that can take a 30'06 will also take a 9.3X62.

Interestingly, there's a Herman Waldron HVA small ring in 7mm STW for sale on Champlin's website. Not only fat, but long.
