This is a 30-60 utilizing a sleeve that bridges the barrel threads resulting in four abutment surfaces. Fully adjustable for any wear and no tools required for the take down process.

Those are escutcheons. Two 1/4" cross pins attach the fore arm to the rear sight,,,which is, of course, attached to the barrel with four set screws.

In the event of perceptible wear, just tighten the barrel as you wish, loosen the set screws to bring both front and rear sight up to battery, tighten and you're good to go.

And..in a PM, I was asked how much it weighed...8 lbs even without scope, 9.2 with (That is not a light weight scope!)

Nice idea and good way to compensate for wear. I like it.
It would not work on anything with an extractor cut. So, for a Model 70, it would have to be a push feed flat breech only. Because of the wear tightening method of turning the barrel and realigning the sights and the sleeve, that could not be done on a barrel with an extractor cut.
I am answering for Duane; sorry.

DCPD..quite alright and very true. I will only do take down on 98 system.

Having said that, Barney Worthen (1920's master out of San Francisco..yeah, that's right ....SAN FRANCISCO !!!) did a bunch of Spingfield TD's...He utilized a threaded take up on the barrel to compensate for wear.

Realistically, any action with one abutment would lend itself to accelerated wear potential.

In over 40 years, I have only been asked once only to do a re adjustment (Using 98's of course)

On another matter, sharp eyed GasGunner noticed I had used one of his VERY nice barrel band swivels..Sorry I missed pointing that out
