This 1915 Stevens Favorite just begged for a facelift....and wound up as a .17 HM2

Many thanks to John Farner (toomanytools) who did the bluing and to the Wisner parts shop that supplied a new extractor, firing pin and heavy duty screws to "beef up" the strength of the action.

Very nice. I like that!

I have one of the 1970's remakes in .22 LR that's not a takedown. It's my backyard coyote getter. Love those old Stevens falling block rifles.

I took this rifle to the range and since it has no scope, I worked on the 25 yard targets. After firing several "warning shots" at the target I finally settled down to firing several dime size groups with the "irons" I installed. I was delighted with this and went to aquire ammo.....and of all things 1,000 rounds showed up on my doorstep today.....

Frankly, I have no confidence in the long term availability of this round so maybe I now have a lifetime supply.....besides....it will not take a lot to rebarrerl this to .22 Long rifle.

I have two original screws left over from the project. They were replaced by higher tensile screws from Wisner's parts shop but are in excellent condition and I will ship them free if you agree to pay the shipping costs....probably under $5.00

The screws are for the breech block and lever.

Simply send me your name and mailing address via PM and I'll get them in the mail to you ASAP.
