I was invited along to a week of moose hunting as cook and maybe to do a little packing.

My two Canadian friends had a Bull and cow tag.

Unfortunately for them no moose was shot. Fortunately for me no meat packing was needed.

That left me time to hunt grouse and fish.

Grouse hunting was so so did shoot enough for one meal for the crew.

Fishing was fantastic.

Caught the biggest Northern pike of my life 43 plus inches and we all caught lots of walleyes and had a couple big walleye feeds.

Plus numerous smaller pike 99 percent of the fish were released only keeping enough for the couple of meals.

Weather was mixed good rain gear a plus.

All in all a good time was had.

You "volunteered" to be a packer on a moose hunt. Have you lost your mind?
