Can a 45 Long Colt revolver be used in the 45 class for Bullseye matches? I shot bullseye in the 70's and used a 1911 in the 45 and centerfire class but can't remember if you could substitute a S&W 25 in LC for the 1911 and also use it as your centerfire pistol.

Disregard, I found a copy of the NRA rules and see that the 45 LC is usable.

The .45 Auto Rim also makes a wonderfully accurate cartridge in a big Smith.

True but I have a slightly better accuracy in the Auto-rim over the moon clips.

Thanks for your advice. I was leaning toward a model 25 S&W but then decided to take a chance on a 1st generation Kimber Super Match which I ordered day before yesterday. As things usually go someone offered me a deal on a custom colt, which was built by a Marine Armorer on a 1943 Colt which I couldn't pass up. I'll have two now and guess I'll see which one shoots best and maybe trade the other for someting like a P210 target.

The 45 Colt does a fine job of kicking bowling pins off the table.
