This site is a good idea but should be sponsored by someone - perhaps the NRA - and be completely free. It would be best if it were possible to link to NCIC and check the national listing.

If someone looses a low value firearm they may not want to pay a fee just to list it. And the buyer of a firearm is going to be hesitant about both paying a fee and registering.

Careful there, the "Payment" page is not secure.
