The Dying Fighter Pilot

Late in the night, he finally regained consciousness.

He was in the hospital, in terrible pain.

He found himself in the ICU with tubes in his mouth, needles and IV drips in both arms, a breathing mask, wires monitoring every function, and a nurse hovering over him. He realized that he was obviously in a life-threatening situation.

The nurse gave him a serious, deep look, straight into his eyes, then spoke to him slowly and clearly, enunciating each word and syllable, "You may not feel anything from the waist down."

Somehow he managed to mumble in reply, "Can I feel your breasts, then?"

What is so special about a fighter pilot?
Peter.

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong;

Nothing really !! Just a hyper-active little boy with an expensive toy. Do you know how to tell if there is a fighter pilot at the party ? Wait 10 minutes, he will tell you !!

My Dad was one. He flew the F-100, the F-101 + the F-105 Thundercheif; + yes they had their area of arrogance + superiority attitude ( mostly well earned). but not always. But then fighter pilots have ALWAYS been that way ever since WW1, when planes first left the ground in combat. It goes with the territory.

Never mistake motion for action.

You got that saying wrong. It actually goes like this,

Never ask a man if he's a fighter pilot. If he is, he'll tell you. If he's not, you'll only embarrass him.

Cool

Your right Todd. I used to think we were all just little boys with expensive toys.

About 35 years ago I saw a glider coming down into a vacant field so I drove over that way to see if help was needed. When I got there the pilot had walked off, but on the side of the fuselage was written " The difference between men + boys is the price of their toys".

Never mistake motion for action.

Why were kamikaze pilots required to wear safety flight helmets?

The helmet is part of a pilot’s uniform.
Uniforms are important in their culture.

The steel outlet here used to have a sales lady
named Sabre.

I asked where she got that name. "Dad flew one,
they played in the pilots seat a few times".

HA! Guess she got shot up huh?
