I just bought my first $1k plus fishing reel - Stella 10k.

Damn good fishing gear is as expensive as guns.

It's the highest end shimano spinning reel series.

This one is for jigging.

I am borrowing/getting a Daiwa isla 7000 for popping.

Need to buy rods - they are $1k a pop too.

Guns are cheaper.

If you cap your fishing gear to your Viking yatch - guns pale Wink

The stuff I am looking for is specialized Japanese popping rods - carpenter or ripple fisher. They are tough to find in Asia - us is near impossible.

I bought a set of saltywater tackle race points 150 250 and a jigging rod obx 400. I think smith in Japan makes them - $700 and seem solid well made rods.

Been very pleased with my Stella 10k - well worth the money.

Need to get a 18k and a 5/6k.
