Last Oct my brother was in elk camp in CO and decided to do some fishing on afternoon since the weather was so warm the elk weren't moving. He fished a lake that had been a favorite of our late father. He took this brookie.

He wasn't able to weigh it but he laid a twig next to it and broke the twig off to the same length as the fish and later measured it at a little over 21 inches. He took one photo of it and released it back to the lake. He thinks it was about 5 lbs which would make it the brookie of a lifetime. My father fished his whole life for a big brookie and never broke the 3 lb mark so my brother couldn't bring himself to keep "Dad's" fish.

Holy Moley, that is a real nice Brookie.
There are few fish prettier than a Brookie in breeding colors.

There used to be one in a beaver pond where I fished in S. CO and I would guess him to be 18", but nothing like this fish you posted.

Bet that is way up there in biggest Brookie in CO.

I thank him for putting it back!
