Bravo! I hope to do that here in New Mexico this year.

What kind of flies are you using? All the various kinds of carp in India are caught on some kind of bait or another..mostly dough/bread concoctions..

I did some carp stalking along the Mississippi River this summer with a friend. Never ended up landing one but I had a couple hooked on. I'll be doing it again.

Prior to this I've caught plenty of carp on corn and bread/dough balls but never on a fly. It was surprisingly sporty.

I caught a fifteen pounder while bass fishing in my pond last summer- he hit a top water bass lure! Amazed me when he struck and took off.

I’ve caught a lot of carp on a fly rod, especially since I only fly fish, even in salt water. At first I didn’t have much luck, then a really good fly tyer and fishing celebrity in Chattanooga hooked me onto one of his flies; a fish food/dough ball imitation.

Those carp are a lot of fun. Great eating too

You should try the carp in Peru, Nebraska. There is a bar and grill there that serves some of the best steaks I have ever tasted and has fried carp on the menu from the Missouri River. The carp is excellent and boneless.

Carp recipe: Butterfly the carp and tack it to a cedar plank. Place plank on an angle next to a hot fire. Baste the carp with mixture of salt, garlic, butter and lemon juice. When the meat flakes easily, carp is done. Discard the carp and eat the plank….
