Thanks so much for the effort.

PS Is anyone else having trouble entering the old site? I can't seem to open it to retrieve my old PM's and list of favorites in the "MY Home".

I"ve turned on the old board so you can retrieve your PMs and favorites.

Problems ??

Don- We were in a discusssion in thread on the Big Game board just before you made the change-over.
The original thread on the old board is

http://www.accuratereloading.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=902689&an=0&page=0#902689

The new thread is ??

https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=518103&f=3411043&m=599107051

In the discussion I referenced an old thread from the bowhunting board

http://www.accuratereloading.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=805350&an=0&page=1#805350

it got split into two threads and between the two they still don't include the original post?

https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=518103&f=1021043&m=985105641
https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=518103&f=1021043&m=808101831

I've managaed to do a work around so mark65x55 knows what I talking about...
I just wanted you to know that many of the old threads were corrupted when they went through transition to the new script.

We have a number of threads that are mixed up. We are trying to decide the best way to reindex them. it took 3 days to import everything so doing it over is not an option.

Thanks for all the work done. However, I think the older one was much more user friendly....

Sorry to sound un thankful for all the great work and effort you gentlemen put into this great forum.

Of course I am old and hate changes, so maybe it is just me.

Well, all your permissions are set to do everything. The only thing I can think of is your browser setting for security are set to not allow cookies or you have the internet browser firewall on blocking us.

There is nothing wrong at all with the account as it is set up on our board.

Sorry I can't turn something on here, but it is all "on".

The size of the letters are way too small. It's too hard to read. I don't like it at all.

In addition to the suggestions that Don made, you might also try clearing your web browser's cache. Might help.

you can adjust the size by clicking on your desktop (right) and adjusting the settings to something like 800X600.

Try that. If everyone here thinks it is too small I"ll increase the size for everyone on teh master settings.

Input is welcome here.

I miss the forum jump window at the bottom of each thread page. It was a very handy feature. Is that feature available with this script?
It sure saved time not having to come back to forum index page to get to another forum.
thanx

CaptJack, just click on GO at the top left of the thread, then scroll down to Accurate Reloading Forums. All the forums will pop up on the right and you can click on one to jump to it.

No problemo, CaptJack. I am still figuring out what I can and can't do too!

From a user functionalitly standpoint there seems to be some pluses and minuses. If the change fixes our bandwidth problem and will accomodate the ever increasing usage and storage issues, I think it will be a pretty good tradeoff in the end.

Cheers,
Canuck

A Forum jump box would be a big help, this setup is hard to navigate quickly. Also, how do you get to the first unread post in a thread. It's a real pain in the ass to find where you left off when you come back and it is a multiple page thread.

No, the old board profile info is of a different format. IP numbers are not public, even to me.

Sorry,

Mine was set to 600/800. The letter size is way too small.

Here is a forum which uses a size that we used to have: What we used to have.

Will posts of the old forum be available on the internet for searching? Those posts represent an amazing amount of cumulative knowledge which should be saved for the benefit of humanity.

All of the old forum was carried over, to the post. Don was looking at re-indexing the posts so that missing posts/threads will show up where they are supposed to.

The real advantage to this software over the last is that threads older than 180 days will be archived in a different format. They will be "read only" but available to everyone to search and read. The active thread count will go way down and the forums will be faster as a result.

The only reason that the old forums are still available is so that everyone can print off any private messages that could not be carried over.

Cheers,
Canuck

Check out the thread called "Jack O'Connor" on the Big Game Hunting Forum. There are about 20 posts missing from it.

I just found what happened comparing a few threads in the old and the new forums.
during the import process, some threads were split in 2,3 or more fragments.

your post count is accurate, they're all here but sometimes fragmented.

First you need a picture no bigger than 55 X 70 pixels. THen you go to your profile and on the avatar section you point to it. If it is in the middle of the post, you click on the display image button (3rd from the right above in the post box) and just put in the url for the picture.
