I don't shoot BKs but with a 40 V-Max in front of 27 grains of H4895 and Win Small rifle primer and Win brass my new Encore will put 5 into .5" on a hot day when I am not as steady as I ought to be. This load shows no excess pressure in my rifle with this load, and this is .7 grains under published maximum according to Hodgdon's cartridge load website. BTW, this runs about 3700 ft/sec out of my 28" barrel.

I only shoot 32 grain bullets in the 204. Hodgdon BL-C (2) works pretty nice. Check in out on Hodgdon’s website and see if it’ll do what you want.

I am using 27.6 gr. of IMR 4895 with a Rem SRBR primer and 39 gr. BK or 40 gr. Berger and a WW case.

The seating depth is critical in my Savage. I found I had to give it about .020 jump to really dial it in.

I also found the Rem SRBR primer to be THE primer for my 204. I was amazed at the difference from the WW SR primers.

Find the best load and then play with the seating.

Jim

Try this site. thumb

Quite a few people including myself are having great success with the 39's and 10X in rem. brass and wsr primers.
What rifle are you loading for? I have a 700VLS and a CZ527 varmint, both put this load into .5 or less at 100yards.
Good Luck! 338vt

27.5 grains of Accurate 2520, Federal Match 205's, 39 grain SIERRA..............if your .204 doesn't like it, call me!! GHD PS: We can discuss 32 grain loads also but that load is the ticket for the .204 Ruger!!!

338, I put the load I posted into .440"@ 500 yards with witnesses!!(now repeat it WITH WITNESSES and I could tout it's greatness!!! : Big Grin Wink And have tested it in no less than 7, .204's of varying manufacturers and barrel configurations!! The ACCURATE powders are the cat's meow!! Drop back to the 32 grainers and use the ACCURATE 2230!! 4225fps is very doable!! GHD
