Anyone ever come across a 357-445 Super Mag? I imagine it would be similiar to a 35 Herrett. Any comments appreciated. I could just use 357-44 Bain & Davis dies.

Funny you should bring this up. I was loading a few 445 SM for a new [to me] 14" barrel and looked at a 357 X 44 B&D and thought the same thing. Don't know how different it would be than a 357 Herrett. But it is a fun thing to think about. Papalote

It would have a bit more capacity than my .35 Cheapskate
but not enough to make any significant difference.The .35 Cheapskate can be made with .445 SuperMag brass for a rimmed case or .35 Rem for a rimless case.

The .35 Whelen reamer is used to cut the chamber and .35 Whelen dies are shortened.

Any cartridge built on the standard 30-06 case can be done this way.

.22 Cheapskate {.22-06 reamer}

.24 Cheapskate {6mm-06 reamer}

.25 Cheapskate {.25-06 reamer}

.26 Cheapskate {6.5-06 reamer}

.27 Cheapskate {.270 Win.reamer}

.28 cheapskate {.280 Rem. reamer}

.30 Cheapskate {.30-06 reamer}

.32 Cheapskate { 8mm-06 reamer}

.33 Cheapskate {.338-06 reamer}

.35 Cheapskate {.35 Whelen reamer}

Probably the .375 and .400 Whelen reamers could be used in the same manner with the .445 SuperMag brass.

I designed this series a couple of years ago but the only one I have built and fired is the .30 Cheapskate.

Your proposed wildcat should be in about the same class as the .357 Max,or the.357 Herrett.

When I had a barrel in the 6.5X50R and 7X50R, I opened up the neck of some 5.6x50R cases to .30, 8mm, .338 and .35 cal, just to see what they looked like. If your shooting Contender barrels, you could really pump up the pressures with this size case head!
