Is there a 10.75x62 out there?
There is the 10.75x57 Mannlicher.

I just dug up an old thread on the 404-240 lol. still a good idea AND similar to the 425 Fossdal.

I never heard of a 10.75X62, but my .400 Whelen fills that niche admirably, as far as I'm concerned. Smaller bullet diameter (.410" vs. .423"), but greater sectional density.

How about a 10.75x61mm Haenel, DWM case number 523, it's close.

There is a 10.75x63, that is the same thing as the x68 case with a shorter neck.

For a new one, go with the 400 Whelen, G&H version; saves a LOT of drama.

I have heard of the 410 OM which is a 9.3x62 necked up to take .410 bullets. Sends a 350 AF down range at 2200ish.

Why, are you just bored?? push that reamer in deeper is my advise, the 10.75x68 is a wonderful caliber in a 98 or mod 70 action..duplicates the original 404 balistics...or modernize it with a 350 gr. bullet at near 2400 fps...I used it on Buffalo and it worked as well as anything else at 2360 in my gun with a shorter tube. The black bulls ran off 25 or 50 yards and bellowed in each case..That was in the day without the modern calibers and we had to improvised at times..doubles were wall hangers all of them!!

Mauser holds 4 down and use a drop box and you only have to reload on New Years Eve for a year of good shooting..

Wow a 423 bullet on a 30-06 case would be ripe for headspace.

A 9.3x64 case would be pretty sweet thorugh.

Check your brass but IIRC the 9,3x62 is a few thousandths larger than your garden variety 06 brass.

appears you are correct, after actually checking, CIP calls for .005 and a bit larger for x62

Supposed to be a 6 thousandths difference but measured brass actual is key. A 416x62 may be better.

Thats more or less the 425 WR..I had one of those years ago for a couple of years, gifted to me. I loved the gun but ammo and components were all but impossible, I liked the clip fed magazine gizmo that guided the cartridge true..I traded it off to a fine gentleman who had it modified to a .458 Win..then traded it back to me as it was too heavy, and I really liked that so I have the monster barrel turned down to about a #4 and it got better, laid a matching round piece of matching Turkish in the barrel channel glassed it in shaved it off level and reinletted the barrel channel, and then it was perfect so I returned it to my friend as a gift, he loved it last I heard..but I did shoot some buffalo with it before it left by hands..

I wildcatted the 9.3x62 up and down over a short period of time, I liked the 9.5x62 best, got 2500 fps with a 300 gr. woodleigh or Nosler later on..Nice caliber, but better than the 9.3x62? not enough to tell..Finally decided the 9.3x62 all things considered was damn hard to beat even for all DG. soft of recoil, easy to shoot, and deadly. In effect your shooting a 404 Jefferys at the original balistics or todays 450-400-3", and no flys on either of those two sweethearts...

I can say the same for the 10.75x68, another fine DG caliber, nice also with such calibers is its easy to get 1,2 or 3 extra rounds in the magazine with a litte work
