275 H&H Magnum
Does any one shoot this caliber ?? I recently got a set of F/L dies, and a set of case forming dies. It's a 7 MM Rem Mag necked down to .275.

More correctly it is a 375 H & H necked down to 7mm calibre!

Holland's in London has a new one available at present. And unlike Holland's 240 or 244 the 275 shoots a standard .284" bullet.

Good Luck! I think it is a good calibre.

It is not a 375 H&H necked to .284. It is a shorter (std 30-06 length action) very like the 7x61 and 7mm Remmag (both of which it preceeded)
It is not as powerful as either and really no reason to build one today. If you have one, it's a classic and enjoy it.

The case form die box reads 275 H&H from 7 Rem. Mag. brass.

No problem making the cass from 7mm Remm. I have a .276 Dubiel which is the .275 H&H with the shoulder angle changed and use 7mm Remmie brass to make cases for it. I don't even use form dies, simple one pass through the FL die and trim.

Hello 223,

The case form dies are absolutely right in that to make 275 H & H you start with a 7mm Remington Magnum case and form it from that.

My original post referred to the origins of the cartridge which was the 375 H & H necked down (and shortened) to form the 275 H & H.

Many wrongly stating that the 275 H & H has it origins in the 300 H & H!

But for making cartridges for it then 7mm Remington Magnum is ideal.

The reason I made the post, I have no need for these 2 sets of dies. Thinking some one would like to buy or trade for them. Thanks, Chuck.
