Jeffeosso has proven a 475 bullet on the RUM case can be done. Why not a full length? I like a .75” neck just because I like long necks when there is not much to gain by a short neck. Look at the 10.75x68 or the 400 Whelen or the 500 Mbogo etcetera... It works.
What would it gain over a 470 Capstick or 470 Accrel or any 458? Would it be a worthy project or windmill tilting? Shouting into eternity to hear an echo? Asking a mirror who is the fairest?

the problem is the action - but it's doable .

hey, i found something amazing
http://cartridgecollector.net/...orting-45-499?page=2

it has the "empire" carts -- uhm, i designed several of these, what the HECK, we never made any of them

if you built it, i'd use 458 ultracat for the basis to do loads

sure, it would work - spend $1,500 -- slightly more speed than a 470 Accrel (but not 476 accrel) and easier to fit than the AMAZING 470 mbogo

I saw that website a while back. Pretty cool that you are immortalized via these carts. I assumed the RUM actions would be used in a conversion. I was just asking the question “Why” because it can be done and looks like it would be a good performer. The 470 Mbogo gets 500@ 2500, the Capstick/Accrel gets 500@ around 2300 and I figured this would split the difference with 500@ 2400 or of course can go slower with lower pressure. I don’t need one but it seems like it should be done.
