MoreBSNew 9.3x74R brass
If you turn the belt off, to .470". You have case that could be used in a 9.3x74. The sized down 340 case holds 86 gr H2O.
This could be some heavy duty 9.3x74 brass.
Crap, I need another gun?
2.920" long, very close.

boom stick405 Win 2 7/8” would be sweet in a punched out 405 Win Ruger #1 and still shoot factory ammo.
Glad to see you are still having fun.

yumastepsideHave you sectioned the cases? Would the modified Weatherby case allow for hotter loads. The main problem with x74 cases has been head separation with heavy loads and repeated useage of cases.
Roger
Yes, I sectioned a case, I don't like them.
Oh, yes, the heavier brass would live longer at higher pressure.
But the lighter 9.3 case sure are easy to modify.
It would make a nice long 405 Winchester looking case.

yumastepsideIf I may ask, why don't you like the sectioned cases?
I have built a 9.3x74 rimmed on a P14 action and I think a few heavy load capable cases would be handy.
Roger
Just the case design. Another brand would have a thicker web at the base.
If I were to make some, I would use 375 H&H brass.
I just used the Norma 340 case, cause that is what I have.
I really like the Federal.
The 300 are sized to .470", the 7mm is stock.
