Made a quick calculation of the smallest group to the largest.

The largest group is over 22 TIMES bigger than the smallest???

Got two Chinese made PCP rifles today.

I will add them to the others to test.

Had a bit of fun at the weekend.

Got some very nice looking Chinses pellets.

They shoot up a storm!

9 inches at 25 yards! clap

More rifles have been brought in for testing.

Correction.

These pellets were NOT Chinese.

These were made in Turkey.

My apologies!

These are the results of the longer barrel version of the VULCAN 3.

It has a 20CM more barrel length.

Update.

I 3as testing an FX rifle with aftermarket parts that added more velocity.

Half way through my test the rifle malfunctioned.

Back to its owner who promised to fix it and I will continue the test.

I am in the process of testing an FX rifle that has a variable power switch.

I checked the velocities of about 70 different pellets of varying weights.

Quite a lot of difference in the velocity between minimum and maximum settings.

I thought I would change my test on this one.

Normally I was shooting 2, 10-shot groups.

On this rifle I thought it might be a good idea to shoot 2, 20-shot groups.

One group with minimum settings and one with maximum settings!

What an eye opener!

Only shot a handful of different pellets types.

Some, the lower velocity shot better.

Some the lower velocity was so bad the group was over a foot!

Will post once I am done with this test.

Saeed, these tests are exhaustive. You are doing the airgun world a big favor. That Chinese Artemis sure was impressive at 50 yards with the pellets it liked.

Got a Day State Delta Wolf.

It defies my comprehension that they would add all sorts of utterly stupid electronics to it.

There are all sorts of setting ones has to do before one can shoot it.

Another shooter who had one - and soon got rid of it - was laughing so much when he heard I have one to test.

He said "that one was designed by a drunk, who has been on drugs for 3 weeks! His brains were 3 feet deep in the gutter!"

He is right.

I am afraid I gave up on this Daystate!

Loading the magazine is an exercise in futility!

And as my test calls for over 70 different types of pellets, there is no way I am going to wast time taking 10 minutes to load each magazine.

As you load the pellets, they fall through the hole before you can turn the magazine to load another one!

Sounds like an engineering failure. Surprised, because Daystate has a pretty good reputation otherwise.

I never handled one, but does it use this style of magazine?

No.

The ones I have just rotate.

And there is nothing to hold the pellets in place.

Bill,

They might have other models which are better.

I have seen different models of EWANIX.

Some are extremely well made and a pleasure to use.

Others are as you said, an engineering failures.

One model in particular shoots air into your face as you fire it.

They have tried to solve the problem by providing a sort of cover which does not work.

Working with these air rifle does give one the idea that are some were most definitely NOT designed by shooters.

And talking of magazines.

The original FX was terrible too.

They modified it and made it so much better.

My point how the hell did they make such terrible, unusable product in the first place?

Saeed,
When you tested these rifles did you do any "tuning" to them or just mount a scope and go at it?

These are just as they came from the factory.

I still have over a dozen to shoot once I have time.

Saeed:

Testing PCP with different pellets and slugs for one factory setting is like, I don't know, testing rifle with one type of primer, one type and amount of powder and just using different bullets.

I can affect accuracy (and velocity) with:

Pressure regulator setting, spring tension preload, spring tension adjuster, airflow adjuster.

It is similar to using powders with different burning rates and different charges.

Yes, factory settings can tell you, if that pellet has potential to be accurate in particular rifle or not, but you can achieve much better precision with fine tuning PCP.

I have just one PCP, FX Crown MK II, so I have time to play with one ;-)

Good shooting!

I just want to say:

It is a great fun and also great work you spent with those tests. Also posting so many target images and results. Please, keep going.

And if possible, at the end, try some fine tuning with the most accurate pellet/rifle combos.

Just finished shooting the Artemis P15 in 25 caliber.

As it was with the 22 caliber model, this one gave me the best single group!

I am shooting both versions of the VULCAN 3.

Models 500 and 700.

Only difference is the barrel length.

I will post results of all three once I am done.
