I bought a tube to use on the threaded shaft of my Caldwell rest. I usually buy Tetra but since the Hoppes was half the price I went with it. The instructions suggest Hoppes Gun Grease is for use as rust preventative when storing firearms for a long period of time.
Can I use it for what I intended?

I'm sure it will work just fine.
