Just wondering what the best way is to clean the inside of the receiver after taking the bolt out on my 444P?
Don't really want solvent seeping down into the action. One person suggested I use a toothbrush, but how do you swab the gunk out?

If you are not removing all parts from the receiver then you are not completely cleaning your Marlin. Remove all internals, use your favorite cleaning solvent and a toothbrush to scrub the inside of the receiver, then remove all traces of solvent and crud (I use an air compressor at 100 psi). This does a nice job. RJSnow
