Inside rifle magazine boxes or behind handgun grips? Amazing what you can find there.

My neighbor (the who attempted to poison himself with firearm solvents) has an impressive .45 auto collection. No other handguns, only .45 autos and he has many. Anyhow he came over early this morning because of the smells emanating from a smoking brisket and must be 40 pounds of ribs. He brought over yet another .45 he just picked up. It is very lightly used Wilson Combat. One wooden insert looked like it might have a hairline crack so I said let's pull it and see. Fortunately it wasn't a crack but behind the grip looked like four years of oil and solvent gooo. But a quick cleanup and no harm.

About two hours later he comes by and tells us he just cleaned 10 more with the same type of gooo.

I plan on opening all mine tomorrow...

Well, wasn't as bad as I thought, but all my handguns are clean under the furniture.

I suppose I am more careful with the oil and cleaning solvents than some...

Yeah - I always check.

Twice sometimes.

In case the fumes from the Hoppes No. 9 may have confused me the first time.

The fumes won't bother you if you take a couple of Hoppes shooters before you start, Hoppes does need a lime twist however...

Haha! I’ve heard it makes a good after shave, too.
