Thought I would share my recent experience in Massailand. Here is a summary of our trip with photographic highlights:

I landed with my client at Kilimanjaro International Airport February 16, 2022. After clearing a rapid COVID test, we cleared the rifles and 45 minutes later we were on the road. It took about 3.5 hours to reach the camp in the Rift Valley. The beautiful and comfortable camp is set on a hill where you can see Mt. Loosimingor to the east culminating at an elevation of 2300 meters. On the west side, the Ngorongoro crater is only about 45 km away. The area is huge covering about 300000 of Massai steppe. Massai are almost everywhere, including their cows, sheep, and goats which coexist almost naturally. But don't forget those people hate predators... so, there are no lion, leopard, and cheetahs in the plains. Rather, they stay in the hills.

Overall, it is an easy-going hunt as the game population is high with is so important. I don't remember seeing so many animals on any other safari... Zebra, grant gazelle, Thomson gazelle, Patterson eland, Gerenuk, white bearded gnu, Dik dik, and giraffe are the most common. The only species we have not seen is the fringed eared oryx.

Anyway we had a fantastic time hunting and we added a day in the Ngorongoro crater as it was close by and it is a masterpiece of nature.
It was one of my best trip in Africa, definitely a hunt to experience.

If you are interested in a fantastic safari in Massailand and need more details, contact me. Please enjoy the photos from our Massailand adventure!

Outstanding photos, Christophe! To be able to hunt this early in the year in Masailand when it is fully green is special!

Christophe, thanks for posting these pictures of Massailand, and the crater. Ive been fortunate enough to hunt Massailand and visit Ngorongoro. Massialand is by far my favorite place to hunt in all of Southern Africa, I have taken some big buffalo bulls, but that bull in the crater is a different class, dont think I will ever see one to match him! Best of luck this season.

Excellent. And really like those pics of the hunted animals just by themselves. That’s old school classic stuff. Looks like an amazing time.

Despite some rain every day we could go every day, got stuck a couple of time but it was fun. The green Massailand is definitely a different country, no dust at all...

Those buffalo there have a good life, quite easy so they live long and grow big horns... Unique place.

Great photos. What concession is this? Couldn't figure it out and was puzzled by the photos of the Robert's.
