I use a snap cap in mine. But it is a centerfire so it shouldn't.

Why not just use a spent case?

It will not hurt a thing to dry fire an XP-100.
I shoot IHMSA competition and have dry fired a couple of XP-100 pistols a good deal, no problem.

When i'm tuning a trigger, I might dry fire 30-40 times,722's and 700's, ain't never had a problem.
If your xp 100? is a center fire, don't sweat it.
