Yeah, me too. I was reaching for my phone when the three zeros struck home.

You can buy Ruark's, Keith's, Hemmingways, and 100 different other assholes rifles for less than $50,000.

This is just stupid.

A rifle is a tool. That is all. Did my carpenter, who built a dream house for my bride, sell his hammer or take pictures with it???

I never get celebrity adoration. Much like buying Boddington's used safari clothes a few years back.

You don't see fishermen get jazzed over the rod that caught the big bass....

I was the Sheep Show a couple of years ago. Bradford O'Connor was there with his father's famous .270's. I got to hold one - wow Eeker
THen was asked to donate to the Jack O'Connor center. Nice rifle, for a 60 year old Winchester, but I felt no magic tingle or jolt that would transport me to the mountains to shoot a sheep.... It was a tool.... Much like O'Connor's typewriter or pen. Which actually did more than his rifles.....

We are an odd bunch.....

These rifles are valuable artifacts. Truly historic weapons.

Similarly, weapons owned by historically important figures are valuable artifacts.

Not to the average person, perhaps, but to all of us with an interest in history, and weaponry, and the role weaponry has played throughout history.

I once bought a fine rifle from Roger Rule. He was a hard bargainer on price. We went back and forth for awhile. I really wanted the rifle, so in the end, I paid a higher price for it than I had originally intended. But I had no regrets or buyer's remorse.

After seeing the price on these rifles, I feel even better about what I paid for mine! Big Grin

The seller must have seen that someone recently paid 6-figures for a banana duct-taped to a wall.

Trying to cash in on the trend?

The rifles will bring a bit north of 100K.
1.75 mil? Sheer shit but it does not hurt to try. If I had 'em, I'd try, too.
