A quick thanks to Kiri (Fallowbuck) for organising a great day out Hare shooting at Wattisham on Saturday.
There were about 40 guns in all and we walked somewhere between 10-12K in a series of four drives.
There was a standing team and opposite them a flat U shaped team walked towards them in a line extending over two or three large fields. The Hares were pushed forwards and any that broke back between the guns were shot at behind.
It was difficult walking across ploughed fields both because of the sticky soil and because the Hares blended in perfectly.
I think the days' bag was around eighty. I was lucky enough to shoot two.
I took one home to cook "Jugged Hare" and am just finishing the last of it for lunch!

Thanks Dave.

Final count was 130 as the beaters kept bringing them in after you left!!

It was good to get out shooting with you again. Lets go wet a fly line some time soon. Leo is driving me nuts to take him fishing again because apparently shooting is boring when I keep missing....
