Coyotes are very protective of pups.

Only their own pups, they eat dog pups and kittens..a litter of kittens is a great call around the ranch house and barn at night.

If I was a pup and you bought me, I'd be doing plenty of crying too! :-)

I use coyote pup distress on my Foxpro, often with good results.

My friend recorded his son crying when he was an infant. He had that and several other sounds on a cassette You wouldn't believe how quick coyotes would come into the infant crying sound.

Fiddle around with the way you work your mouth turkey call.
One might be surprised with the sounds the can make if they vary from the "turkey" technique.

I've called coyotes with a coyote pup in distress.
Works great at times! Never thought about a dog pup sound but it might work too.

I took my daughter coyote hunting at the ranch when she was 5 or 6, and used a wounded cotton tail call to bring them in..after awhile I was surrounded by rabbits..Sis said papa, you just sound like a wounded carrot! mouths of babes!
