Got up at about 5am for my trip to the bathroom. Heard coyotes close. Grabbed my S&W 44 mag. There were three at the edge of the dusk to dawn light. The 240gr took one down. Don’t remember firing this in the dark. The vents lite it up.

As usual just my $.02

A dead coyote is a good coyote.
Have had several wake ups from them being close to the house but out of flood lite range patterns.

I got up this morning at 1:45AM because the new puppy was whining to go outside. Spotted two of them running across the snowy field in the moonlight. Too cold and tired to grab the rifle.

What ever you do don’t fire out the patio door next to master bedroom at 4am. Where wife was asleep.

“WAS” for sure was the correct word. Won’t print her comments or feelings.

Also don't shoot a 357 mag out the bed room window at 2am.

With out hearing protectors the echo off the house wall is horrible ears rang for days.

But the porcupine that was chewing on my siding was dead.

Ramrod:

No need to print that, we already know within a few cylibles!!!

At least you shot one, that's a great help. You save the fur? They should be good this time of year IF not shot up too bad that is. Never shot one with a .44 so wouldn't know how big the hole might be.
