Can someone help me find a late 80s-early 90s country song about a singer who makes it all the way to Paris. The twist is it’s Paris, Texas.

The chorus essentially all the Texas towns playing has taken him to.

It was main stream, but I can’t find it.

It's George Jones and Tammy Wynett, "The Jet Set" I believe.

I think John Prine did a copy himself of the same song several years later.

Good taste in music for a non university man Big Grin

By a fountain back in Rome
I fell in love with you
In a small cafe in Athens
You said you loved me too
And it was April in Paris
When I first held you close to me
Rome, Georgia
Athens, Texas
And Paris, Tennessee
No we're not the jet set
We're the old Chevrolet set
There's no Riviera
In Festus, Missouri
And you won't find Onasis
In Mullinville, Kansas
No, we're not the jet set
We're the old Chevrolet set
But ain't we got love?
No we're not the jet set
We're the old Chevrolet set
Our steak and martinis
Is draft beer with wieners
Our Bach and Tchaikovsky
Is Haggard and Husky
No we're not the jet set
We're the old Chevrolet set
But ain't we got love?
No, we're not the jet set
We're the old Chevrolet set
The Jones and Wynette set
Ain't the flamin' Suzette set
Our Bach and Tchaikovsky
Is Haggard n'...(fades out)

I found it! It is called All the Rage in Paris by The Derailers.

Thanks for Jetset. I had not heard it in 18 years.

True. The 1st time I heard Iris Dement on the radio she was doing the song from her 1st album. The song was "Let the mystery be." My 1st hearing was ,what an awful voice. Then I listened some more + realized that it is really a very beautiful voice.Words can't describe it,you need to hear her for yourself.I've seen her live a few times as well down at the Paramount Theatre;very unbecoming, just standing there playing her guitar + puts on a great show. She used to open for John Prine. If you get the chance, listen to her +/or see her show.
