Black Powder Cartridges and air travel
Help us out on another thread. Can you travel with black powder cartridges, less than 19mm, on a plane?

Thanks gals and guys,

A second question for the experts: If you have a box of manufactured black powder cartridges, or even better a shipping box that came with black powder cartridges inside, could you post the UN or NA number on the box? I am hopping for UN0012 for those with bullets or UN0014 for blanks.

Thanks,

The FAA regulations say this; you can take "small arms ammunition...". You cannot take loose ammunition, black powder, primers, or percussion caps.
It does not say what kind of powder can be in the ammunition. It has primers in it doesn't it, which are prohibited apart from the ammunition. How does the consumer know what kind of powder is in any ammunition you buy. You don't.

If it's not stated that it's black (or a black substitute) it's smokeless.

The UN or NA # ? I have some Goex Pinnacle black powder ammo in 45 Colt, there's a bar code, but no UN or NA #s on the boxes.
