Just wondering if anyone makes an accurate replica of the plain-Jane Pipe-brand butcher knife that Harry Wolhuter used to kill the lion that was trying to kill him in Kruger Park that August day in 1903. Not looking for a bright, shiny collector's knife, but a user, with carbon steel blade and non-fancy, functional wood scales: a dead ringer.
Sheath not required.

I make them Bill. This one went to africa for a PH to gift to client for successfull lion hunt . Have three over there now and made to original specs of the pipe brand with acacia (blackwood) handles but have done them with other woods as well.
I have one made in my "ready drawer" without sheath.

My Von Gruff Wolhuter Lion Knife just arrived from New Zealand and it is simply elegant in its so very capable simplicity. I will post a photo just as soon as I can try to construct a "tableaux" at least semi-worthy of our own Geedubya's artistry.
