Knife for Grizzly
What would be a good knife to take w/ me to Alaska for general Grizzly bear skinning, caping duties?

billinthewildIf you're not sure if he's dead, I'd take about a 6 footer.
Jdollar,
You make a very good point. The reason I asked is so that if the guide asks me to jump in and help, i'd be a bit more prepared. When researching my outfitters references, one of them told me how his Eskimo guide, when skinning out the just shot bear, had forgotten his knife back at camp. He simply used a razor blade and had the job done in 20-30 miutes.

AKsheephunterGSSP, This little skinner is the ticket, I skinned out my son's entire Griz and my Dall sheep and it was used to debone the both hind quarters of the sheep before it needed sharpening. It is a Tops knife, Sparrow Hawk model, it is top quality hard steel. Super light too.
