Desert Ironwood Pair
Here's a pair of knives with my favorite wood. The top knife is my large drop point hunter and the bottom knife is a caping or bird and trout knife. The Ironwood on these knives is presentation grade.

Have a safe Memorial Day holiday and please remember those who gave their lives serving our country.

If they are available, let me know how much and I will likely buy them. Thanks.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Gatogordo,

They are spoken for. A forum member commissioned them.

Thanks,

I'd say they are "presentation" all the way around, Lee.
Well done.

By the way, the knife I got from you is a bit large for my backpack sheep hunt but should be just fine for my son's desert sheep hunt. I'll send you some pics for your scrapbook highlighting the knife.... provided we're successful.

All- Thank you for your comments.

Larry- I sent you an email with a question. Your knives are up next.

ZekeShikar- I can't imagine that stag handled knife being too large or weighing too much especially after packing in the Alaskan Range for an old school guide who liked to put things like a car battery (for the Sat. phone) and/or a cast iron skillet in my pack! I was about 20 years younger then so it probably didn't matter much. I hope you are sucessful on both hunts and would love to see some photos.

I know, Lee, that this thread is about your beautiful knives but I cannot resist a story of which you reminded me.

I was backpacking for Dall sheep in NWT, back in 1981, and had an 18 year old "guide" to make us legal. The kid really liked to smoke dope and did it all through the hunt.
On the way out of the country, after a very successful hunt, we had 2 days of hard pushing to get back to the pick-up point. The kid had ran out of dope so he was in a hurry to return to base camp where he had a "stash".
The last day we were really pushing and I got the bright idea to roll a river rock into his pack every time we stopped for a drink from the river.
He didn't notice the rocks through the whole day but the hike out was at a much better pace.
When we arrived at base camp, and he discovered the rocks, he was "displeased"! He settled down after we had a swim in the lake and he smoked some dope.
All was forgiven but never forgotten, I'm sure!

The knives arrived yesterday. The pictures are nice but they are even better in my hand.

Very nice work!
